Great Event!

Saturday was AMAZING!  Velvet Lotus Tattoo had a great opening and there were a lot of spectacular people there.  The bands killed it and it was a great night.  It was such an thrilling night that my body was like "NOPE! Too much fun, you are sick forever now." (Well, clearly not forever, since I'm almost human again.) Anyway, this is the piece that I worked on for the raffle:

(sorry about the poor picture quality, all I had was my phone and it was such a busy and exciting night!)

This is the AMAZING piece that Amanda Bollinger and I worked on, (marvelous lotus work lady!).

And here are all three pieces including the incredible moon collage that Amanda made.

These were all won during the raffle and went home with excited new owners!  It was such a wonderful experience!

Exciting things are happening

I am really excited about a few things that are coming up in the near future.  On April 26th at Gabes in Iowa city I get to be part of an great event, the grand opening celebration of Velvet Lotus Tattoo.  There will be lots of great music with some awesome bands playing. (full disclosure: I play bass in one of them so I might be a little bit biased). I will be producing a painting/drawing that will be raffled off at the end of the night as well as colaborating with another local artist Amanda Bollinger on a mutual piece, incorporating her awesome collages and my pen and ink styles.

In the slightly more distant future, I will be designing a skate deck for the Dark Slides Skate Shop show at Eronel in Dubuque, Iowa on May 24th.  Again Flannel Season (my band) will be playing, so that is an added incentive to come check out all the cool decks.  There are a ton of amazing artists participating, and if it's anything like last year's show it is going to rock both shoes and socks fully off. (shoes and socks not guaranteed to be removed #YMMV)

As always, I'm hoping that I will have a chance to post more work on this site and update the blog more. Please stay tuned and check out these upcoming events!
