What’s New?
This one is a long time coming! I know plenty of people have been looking for this design on a shirt and I finally made it happen! We are looking into upgrading our second floor back porch into a space for both work and play and this was the first big project from the porch! It is pretty marvelous to be able to work outside on days as beautiful as this one, and the barn swallows nesting in the eaves are used to me already.
Claire prints the shirts, and enjoys the bird song.
Hand screen printed t-shirts emblazoned with the Midwest Edible design, previously only available as a tote bag. Show off your love of mushrooms, foraging, and the Midwest!

This year is all about relief printing, exploration, and discovery.
2025 has been a year of restructuring for Claire Thoele Art + Design. I took a step back from art fairs this summer to focus on building a new body of work that more accurately represents my values and experiences.
I started block printing towards the end of 2024, and it has become my primary focus in 2025. The physicality of this medium, the ability to print easily on many surfaces, and the vast range of stylistic options are all massively important to me right now.
This 9 × 12 print is based on a photograph I took in Höfn, Iceland, one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. It is a limited edition four-color reduction print using Cranfield inks on Fabriano paper.
Reduction prints are multi-color prints made with only one block. Each color’s block is carved from the previous one, destroying it forever. This creates a series that can never be reprinted. In this case there are 20 prints all numbered and signed. All prints are hand carved and pulled by Claire.
